I spent a month last year in a city for medical reasons (all better now!) But I had many hours to fill between treatments, and of course wanted to continue making art. Lino cuts emerged as something reasonably transportable, that could be created in a confined space with limited tools.
I loved how much I could express in this compact medium. The lino cuts reflect the west coast island environment that we (normally) live in: water, boats, ravens, and trees, and the myriad of ways they interact with each other.
I explored various methods to make the lino cuts more expressive, and also hand coloured many of them after printing. They have been so popular that I have continued to make them back in the studio, and delight in the reactions to them! They are available horizontal or vertical, framed or unframed, and with a variety of topics to please anyone with a love of the west coast environment.
